Berlin, VT, May 7, 2008 - Martha Trombley Oakes, President and CEO of the National Life Group Charitable Foundation, presented a check for $5,000 to the Central Vermont-New Hampshire Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross today. "The National Life Group Charitable Foundation is proud to support the work of the local Red Cross. There are so many people in our community who are touched by the chapter's emergency services and we are committed to supporting that work," Ms. Trombley Oakes said. The donation will supplement the Chapter's Disaster Relief Fund. John O'Farrell, Executive Director for the Chapter, stated, "The Chapter is extremely appreciative to have such generous supporters for our Local Disaster Relief efforts. The services we provide make a huge difference in the lives of people, often right away and at no cost to those affected. The National Life Group Foundation's support makes it possible for us to continue in our Mission to help those in need, giving local families and individuals some stability in their lives, often under uncertain circumstances"
Salad Daze
a high school band whose members are students at Fair Haven Union High School, recently gave a concert for the benefit of the Central Vermont/New Hampshire Valley Chapter. The band members, James Loso, Josh Jakab, Amber Beayon and Josh Ferguson, donated $433 to the chapter. They state that they " want to raise as much awareness as we can, and strive for the same goals that you and all of the Red Cross strive for " The staff and volunteers are so appreciative of the wonderful support of Salad Daze, and we hope to be able to hear their music at another performance soon.
